CULTURAL DIVERSI1Y, Participation in all activities relating to the different cultures in OrangeCounty. Our primary interest has been education. We held CE classes for the Asian American Realtors Assoc. to familiarize agents in the ways of the Asian Community. Latino Homebuyer Seminar the same objectives. We had the highest numbers of agents attending these classes. I've updated the HOMEBUYER SEMINAR for 1ST TIME BUYER CLASSES FOR FAIR HOUSING, and was able to help three participants in the purchase of their home.. REALTOR VOLUNTEER FORECLOSURE PREVENTION TRAINING CLASSES.. The idea came about when we noticed that a large amount of homeowners were on the verge of losing their homes due to SUBPRIME loans resetting. We also notice that these buyers were not qualified financially to purchase these homes. Cultural Diversity donated $5,000 and C.A.R. donated $15,000. and with these funds we partnered with Fair Housing Council of OC who were certified by HUD to train Realtors to help in the process to save these homes and try and prevent foreclosures. The volunteers were trained at the offices at OCAR and then proceeded to call the lenders to try and work out solutions. We have saved over 500 homes from foreclosure and counseled over 2000 homeowners. Our first client will be written up in the California Law Review in August 2009 along with myself and Connie DerTorossian of Fair Housing of OC for uncovering the Fraud being done by Mortgage Brokers and sadly Realtors, For this effort I was voted REALTOR OF THE YEAR 2008. MEMBER OF STEERING COMMITTEE FOR Region 32-Homes for Heroes Habitat for Humanity. 27 homes to be built in San Juan Capistrano Object: Raise funds $250,000 to build one home in San Juan Capistrano, OCAR, LAGUNA, NEWPORTBEACH BOARD OF REALTORS have raised Approx $260000.On July 10, 2009, keys were given to 4 families. including one Military family who was stationed in Iraq and was able to hear the proceeding over the phone Chair-Housing & Community Affairs Committee- This committee has a yearly budget which we donate money to help causes. We attend meetings along with the committee members on subjects that pertain to I-lousing. 20 PARTNERS IN ALL. Recently, we were able to receive a grant from C.A.R. in the amount of $100,000 for closing costs expenditure to help first time buyers purchase a home in the community that they work in. If they stay in the home 5 years then it becomes a grant. If they move before the 5 years, the money is repaid and used for the next homebuyer. Our hope Is to get the large employers to donate matching funds for this project, DIRECTOR -OCHOPC COLLABORATIVE Helping with Foreclosure Prevention and Time buyer education. Teaching classes to insure that time buyers understand everything involved in purchasing a home. Obtaining financing for and mortgages and City grants. We host the Foreclosure Prevention Seminars along with NHS, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Wachovia, lndy Mac, Countrywide, Freddie Mac. PublicLawCenter. IRS and Credit Counseling and our Realtor counselors. Our Speakers are In Spanish, English, Vietnamese, and Korean, OCHOPC.ORG

Besides Candy having the honor of serving as Secretary for 2009 with Women's Council of Realtors, I also have the good fortune to be a member of Laguna Beach Board of Realtors where involved with "A Taste for Charity", "Pet Parade and Chili Cook-off" which raise funds for local charities. National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, volunteer board member, for Annual Golf Tournament" raising charitable funds. Affiliate member of Orange County Association of Realtors and serve as co-chair on mixer committee and most importantly, had the opportunity to volunteer to build one of the "Homes for Heros".
I love each and every one of my volunteer opportunities. (I do not like for anyone to call it volunteer work, it is not work, it an opportunity to help those in need.) My favorite is Meals on Wheels.
